Today was all about goal setting for the business. If you don't have any goals, then how will you know if the business is a success? The main goals I'll be concentrating on for WritingRitual are initial signups, and then paying customers. There are stack of others things you can measure, but these are largely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. I'd previous set myself a goal of 50 signups for the pre-launch and I'm happy to say that this was achieved :)
The main thing I'm concentrating on now is the product itself. The great thing about a digital product is that once it's developed, you can resell it over and over again. The downside is that you actually have to create it upfront in the first place. The #7DayStartup book focuses more on service type businesses rather than products. This means that it doesn't really have any time put aside to create the product in your 7 days. That's what I'm doing though!
Since the last update then the product itself has come on quite a bit. All the database work has been done, there is now a registration and working login system, and some other screens have been designed. I'm hoping that by the end of launch day, all the features listed as the MVP will be complete. At that point I'll be ready to launch, exciting stuff! :)
As you know, I'm also creating the #7DayStartup while camping around Scotland. The plan was to drive from Fort William to Dumfries yesterday, Dumfries to Keswick today, and then home on Saturday. Unfortunately when I got to Dumfries the weather wasn't great and there was no wifi. As there is so much coding type work to do, I had to change plans. I decided to just blast straight back home where I have a better setup for coding (and wifi which is pretty essential!) and have a full day of development to be able to launch in time. Over 7 hours driving wiped out a lot of today, but it means I have the whole day to go at tomorrow.
If you haven't done already, then do sign up for the latest updates and also to be one of the first people to hear when we launch. Just click the link below :)

I'm also sharing my thoughts "live" on social media, and on Periscope. You can find me on most platforms as "richardjeaton" so do come say hi on Instagram, Twitter, or Periscope.
